The Star Observer has been the trusted, independent journal of record for Australia’s Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans and Intersex (LGBTI) communities since 1979.

We enjoy the highest audited circulation of any gay & lesbian newspaper in the country and every week print editions of the paper are distributed throughout New South Wales, Victoria and Queensland. Our website and social media channels are updated throughout the day, reaching a highly engaged audience across Australia and around the world.
Gay & Lesbian Community Publishing Limited (the company that publishes The Star Observer) is a not-for-profit organisation, 100% owned by LGBTI community members; profits from our business are used to strengthen and expand the operation of our company and our community. Our publications are fully audited and our accounts are presented to our community shareholders at annual general meetings.
